Original German VW Type 3 Automatic Shifter & Base – "Survivor" Core Set
Secure a piece of authentic Volkswagen history with this Original German (OEM) automatic shifter assembly. Sourced directly from a vintage Type 3 (Fastback, Squareback, Notchback), these parts are 100% original and non-refurbished.
For the purist builder, there is no substitute for the weight and fitment of original German steel and trim. This set serves as an excellent "survivor" core for a high-end restoration or a direct replacement for a broken modern reproduction.
Product Details & Condition
-
Untouched Originality: These components have not been painted, polished, or modified. They retain their original factory finish and character.
-
Mechanical Status: Untested. While the assembly appears complete with the lever, spring mechanism, and neutral safety switch connector, it is being sold as-is. We recommend a professional teardown, cleaning, and fresh lubrication to ensure optimal performance.
-
Aesthetic Condition: Vintage "patina" condition. The chrome bezel shows minor age-related wear, and the black textured base is intact, providing a perfect foundation for a concours restoration or a period-correct survivor interior.
