Purpose-built for 20W, 30W, and 40W desktop laser engravers, this circuit board comes preflashed with open source Smoothie firmware and additional signal ports that work just as well with most CNC routers. The ports handle our machines' default stepper motors and axis limits while providing support for even stronger add-on motors and vent fans if needed.
Further, this 24V logic board has dedicated ports that direct your laser head along its X and Y axes while recognizing their limit switches. This K40 upgrade also enables autofocusing, U-axis spinning for rotary axes, additional connections for add-on stepper motors, a 5V power feed, and nine 5V input/output signaling ports to handle pressurized air assists, external venting fans, and other laser engraving accessories.
Most importantly, this customized smoothieboard will allow your K40 box to work with LightBurn laser software running on any current and common operating system—Windows, Linux, or MacOS—so you can do precision grayscale work with any K40 laser cutter.
